Cookie Policy
OtakuPeople is operated by Lamplight Technology Consulting LLC. This page lists every cookie and similar technology the site can use, and how we ask about the optional ones. It is generated from the same configuration the site runs on, so it cannot drift out of date.
How we ask for consent
We do not show a cookie banner, because we do not set anything that needs one.
Reading this site sets no cookies at all. We do count that a page was viewed — we would like to know which entries are worth maintaining — but that measurement runs without storing anything on your device: it keeps no identifier between page loads, so it cannot recognise you on a later visit or follow you anywhere else. There are no advertising, social-media or ad-network tags on this site at all.
If that ever changes, this page changes with it — it is generated from the same configuration the site runs on — and a banner will ask you first.
What we store
This is the complete list. Anything not on it is not set by us.
| Name | Category | Where | Kept for | Why |
|---|---|---|---|---|
op_session | Strictly necessary | Cookie (Stytch) | Session | Keeps a site administrator signed in. Admin sign-in only — never set for a reader. |
cc_consent | Strictly necessary | Cookie | 12 months | Stores your cookie preferences so we do not ask again. |
__ph_opt_in_out_* | Strictly necessary | Local storage (PostHog) | Until cleared | Remembers whether you allowed analytics, so we do not re-ask. |
ph_* | Analytics | Local storage (PostHog) | 12 months | Recognises a returning reader so repeat visits are not counted as new people. |
The analytics row appears because the site is built to support it, but in the current configuration it is never written — measurement runs in memory only and is discarded when you close the tab. It is listed so this table stays true if that changes.
Analytics
We use PostHog to see which entries are worth maintaining. We do not sell or share what it collects and we do not use it for advertising.
Session replay and heatmaps are switched off, in the code as well as the configuration. Recording what you read is not something we are willing to make possible by changing a setting.
Third parties
None. This site loads no advertising, social-media or third-party marketing tags. Affiliate links are ordinary links that we redirect through /go/ — following one takes you to a shop, which may then set its own cookies under its own policy. See how our links work.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal we honour it: marketing cookies are treated as declined and we do not ask you about them.
